Addressing the national engineering skills gap is a common strategic issue for both MOD and industry. The Defence Suppliers Forum (DSF) working group for skills has the following key output: to provide an evidence-based view of the engineering skills landscape within the defence engineering enterprise to assist policy leads in their decision making.
Skills has a busy landscape and there is a need to build a clarity of purpose and coherence of approach. This survey is the first step in understanding that landscape better as well as validate where the future skills shortages lie. Uniting on a non-contentious area, any interventions highlighted, will help build a TeamUK approach that may add to collaboration through shared training, development and facilities.
Your views are important; we want to assess the attitudes to engineering across the defence enterprise, understand your views about the skills gap and identify priority areas of focus that will result in action for the DSF-Skills group.
The survey is being run by Bsquared with support from ADS on behalf of the DSF co-chairs; Kevin Craven - CEO Serco UK & Europe and Air Marshal Julian Young - MOD Defence Engineering Champion.
This survey will take around fifteen minutes to complete and will be open until 15th December 2017. If you have any questions please email email@example.com.
