Semta
Funding
We take every opportunity to secure funding to support employers' investment in priority skill areas.
Employer Investment Fund (EIF)
Career Investment and Progression Programme
The EIF has already enabled Semta to develop 1300 female employees across the UK in companies such as BAE Systems, Atkins, Johnson Controls Automotive Experience and Babcock and has led to a new qualification – the EAL Level 3 Award in Career Advancement and Progression (QCF) – which helps individuals manage themselves and have a significant positive impact on their career development.
Talent Retention Solution
EIF has supported development of the Talent Retention Solution, a website that holds details of engineering staff at risk of redundancy and vacancies in the engineering sectors. Companies can advertise vacancies or find individuals with the right skills and experience on the system. To sign up, please contact Customer Services.
Sustainable Skills Solutions
With UK Commission for Employment and Skills funding we are driving the development of high-impact skills solutions for sector companies. We'll invest this money on behalf of employers to :
- improve the productivity and competitiveness of supply chain companies
- increase the number of SMEs that recruit an apprentice
- increase the number of SMEs that recruit a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) graduate by improving employer-university links.
Apprenticeship funding
Funding is available for apprenticeships. Typically all the training costs for apprentices aged 16-18 are paid for and there are contributions towards the cost of training apprentices above that age. Through the Semta Apprenticeship Service we make sure access to funding is as simple as possible.
