At the event, manufacturers will be talking about increasing British industry’s share of the UK talent pool – by boosting participation from women and minority groups in the manufacturing workforce. They’ll also be considering whether UK manufacturing has a problem with women and diversity – or whether it’s the other way round.

Help to Shape the Future Skills of the Automotive Sector in the West Midlands

wmca and semtaWest Midlands Combined Authority, supported by Semta, is developing a Skills Action Plan for the automotive sector in the region and we need support from local employers.

We are gathering information on the skills and recruitment challenges that automotive supply chain employers in the region face, so that we can develop the plan collaboratively and deliver solutions that work for industry, our talent pool and the local economy.

We would like to invite employers in the region to share your views on apprenticeships, hard to fill vacancies and skills that the sector needs through a short online survey. The success of the skills plan is dependent on the willingness of employers to particiapte.

It only takes 15 minutes to complete and if you participate, you will also have the option of taking part in a short follow up telephone interview, to provide more detail on your answers.

You can click here to complete the survey online. We are encouraging responses to the survey until Friday 23rd March 2018

If you have any queries please contact marketing@semta.org.uk or call 0845 643 9001.
