WINNER! SME Investment in Skills
Pentaxia Limited was recognised as being one of the best organisations in the UK at championing skills development in advanced manufacturing and engineering, at the sixth annual Semta Skills Awards. The advanced composite manufacturing business from Derby, won the award for SME Investment in Skills, sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover.
The local firm, which specialising in the luxury automotive, aerospace and bespoke sectors, was the big winner of the evening. It took home the award for SME Investment in Skills, as well as the overall Best of British Engineering award, for making a special contribution to supporting skills development within the advanced manufacturing and engineering industry.
"The key that has made our business successful is investing in people," said Stephen Ollier, Managing Director and Owner of Pentaxia. "We've typically grown by 30 to 50 percent a year and you can only do that with great people."
Pentaxia has set up its own training facilities to bring 3 to 5 new people a month into the industry and develop the talented employees it needs as a fast growing SME.
